Susan Sarandon on the Red Carpet

Susan Sarandon was married to Chris Sarandon from 1967 to 1979.

In the mid-1980s, the veteran actress dated Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri, with whom she had a daughter named Eva.

She then dated fellow star Tim Robbins for decades, had two sons with the actor, and then broke things off with him in 2009.

As perhaps you’ve guessed by now, all of these past lovers have one thing in common…

… they are all male.

But Sarandon – who also dated some guy with a penis named Jonathan Bricklin for a bit until their 2015 split – now says she’d consider a trade.

She’s not committed to the only team she’s played for ever since she lost her virginity back in the day.

Speaking to PrideSource.com this week about her sexuality, Sarandon made a few headlines (such as the one above) when she quipped:

“Yeah, I’m open. My sexual orientation is up for grabs, I guess you could say.”

It sounds as if Sarandon may have been joking with this response, but you don’t see this sort of joke made too often. There must be some kernel of truth to it.

The actress also confirmed in this interview a rumor that she formerly dated Philip Sayer, who starred with her and David Bowie in the 1983 horror film The Hunger.

After being with Sarandon, Sayer decided he had enough of the opposite sex.

“I did at one point have a very successful and very loving and wonderful affair with a man who then wasn’t with another woman after me, and that worked out fine!” the actress told PrideSource.com.

“I don’t think you had to declare yourself as rigidly as you do now in terms of having to declare yourself almost politically about your sexual preference.”

It’s true.

Sayer died in 1989 and never discussed his sexuality in public.

Sarandon added in this exchange that she’s always been a “serial monogamist,”

It’s just that… well… she doesn’t see a need to limit that monogamy to just one gender.

Not that she’s sitting around and comparing options – man or woman – on a frequent basis.

“I haven’t exactly been in the midst of a lot of offers of any kind. I’m still not! I don’t know what’s going on!” the sta told PrideSource.com

“But I think back in the ’60s it just was much more open.”
